The dancing Starlings

I have spent some time in the shed, taken some photos mostly of young starlings they seem to have taken over at the moment. There are a few other birds around a Coal Tit was flitting about today and I managed to catch him/her.
We are still catching glimpses of "Spot the hedgehog" on an evening as he ambles through the garden eating anything he can find, he likes digestive biscuits so Tony has started leaving some out for him. We have also discovered that Spot raids the squirrels nut box, Tony caught him on the Bushnell camera it was funny watching him on tiptoe reaching in for the nuts.
The fox is also still around now and again, Tony leaves something out for him/her as well. Tony thinks it is a young female but has not got enough film to be sure.

Well I will put some photos on for you to look at the first one is a little bit different
it is a present from Tony to me, now believe it or not I really do like it...

Jay

I grabbed my camera and snapped the Jay through the bedroom window. This was an unexpected visitor!

This was a nice surprise to spot in the garden, I didn't have time to open the window so just took the shot through the glass, I am quite pleased with the result and with it being  hand held as well.

The garden has been quiet today the Sparrowhawk took a young blackbird earlier much to the dismay of Mr & Mrs Blackbird who could be heard calling for baby long after the abduction had taken place, I think the Sparrowhawk would have fed Sparrowhawk chicks lunch by then. Cruel I know but that is nature.

My eye is fully recovered, hopefully I will not have a repeat but I have drops ready just in case.

Why did I go?

I went back to the hospital today for the follow up appointment with the eye clinic.

The appointment was for 2:30 pm when we arrived we waited to be seen, at about 2:30pmish we were called in "oh this is good we thought" WRONG.
That was just the initial call in to test your sight, then back into the waiting room with an A4 sheet of paper which tells you

THIS IS A CASUALTY CLINIC
YOU MAY HAVE BEEN GIVEN AN APPOINTMENT TIME
THIS IS JUST SO THE STAFF KNOW HOW MANY PATIENTS TO EXPECT
MORE URGENT CASES MAY BE SEEN BEFORE YOU
A WAITING TIME CAN BE EXPECTED
OF BETWEEN 2 TO 4 HOURS

Oh happy days, I wont tell you the exact words Tony and I both uttered.
We did go in at about 3:20pm so it wasn't too bad apart from the little Asian boy who entertained us in the waiting area with his caterwauling for over half an hour before a member of staff remembered there was a playroom just down the corridor.
So the doctor we saw asked the same questions as the last one, looked in my eyes, squirted in orange dye. Hummed and hawed then said "continue with the drops"

Me                     Will it happen again?
Doctor                I don't know
Me                      What caused it?
Doctor                I don't know

So  I have to ask myself
WHY  did I go ?

A ride to the A & E

I managed about half an hour maybe three quarters in the shed earlier today before I had to come back inside in pain. I have been suffering with a swollen eyeball (yes sounds lovely doesn't it?) Well we realised it happened most when I went down to the garden and the shed. The last few times I have come back up in really bad pain, this time Tony told me we had to do something about it. So we took a ride up to the A&E at Pinderfields hospital.
We didn't have to wait long which is unusual for there but good for us I was still in a lot of pain. The doctor that we saw asked a few questions looked in my eye, Tony as usual explained that he was with me and would probably have to answer for me at times because of my memory problems, (eh what memory problems me never).
Anyhow after putting drops in my eyes that nearly made me jump through the ceiling they stung that much, then dyeing my eye orange the doctor diagnosed that I had "Allergic Conjunctivitis " Oh wow I thought another bloody allergy lucky me!
Well I suppose we had done well we hadn't been long, we left the doctor with an appointment for the eye clinic on friday and a prescription for eye drops to collect at the pharmacy on the way out.
Half an hour later, a lot of foot tapping and deep breathing we finally left the hospital, oh and don't get me started on the parking. £ 1.30 an hour and now they have barriers so you get a ticket when you go in and you pay before you go back to the car so if you are 1 or 2 minutes over the hour you have to pay for 2 hours, I told you not to get me started on the parking!!!

Anyway I did manage a few photo's before the pain in my eye got too bad to stand so here you are ...

Oh and no I don't know what I am allergic to that is causing my eye to be affected it could be anything in the garden, the shed or even the bird food I may never know.

The garden is busy at the moment, the birds are rushing about collecting food to feed the chicks that must be in the nests.

The Squirrel is calling in too, her fur is growing back nicely. She is still happy eating the monkey nuts.
