The above link will lead you to a calendar news item my Mum told me about last night, while we were enjoying a meal of swordfish cooked by Tony.
I am sure anyone who is in anyway connected to Yorkshire will find the item amusing! Only Brian Blessed could make it sound right!
Go on have a look you know you want to...

A trip to Bentham
Yesterday we had a day out to Bentham, to visit Tony's son Richard his daughter in law Melanie and his grandson Oliver.
Oliver is a wonderful young lad who is a pleasure to see. He loves his granddad to play with him, as the weather was good they were chasing round the garden, Tony tried his best to keep up but a 2 year old is hard to keep up with for anyone so the chase was soon over! It didn't help that Levi the black labrador had to join in as well.
Oliver not one to give up carried on running round the garden as if Tony was still chasing him, laughing and calling out "come on granddad catch me". It didn't matter that he wasn't in the imagination of that 2year olds head the chase was still on.
As well as Levi the black labrador, they also have a beautiful fluffy cat, who's name I cannot remember just at the moment. The cat is a pedigree and is not allowed to leave the house. She does however try at every opportunity, so whenever someone enters or leaves the house first there is a military like operation to make sure the cat is not near the door, then you have to rush out and shut the door quickly incase she makes a break for it.

We set off for home the weather still good so as you would expect there were a lot of bikers out and about. The advert from the TV came to mind THINK TWICE THINK BIKE! Maybe some of the bikers should also think twice about some of the places they over take, a bit dangerous sometimes...

Tony must have become bored...
This morning we called down to Mums to deliver cards and chocolates from ourselves and Lynsey for mothers day. I had received cards and presents from Lynsey, Christopher and Hannah, all very thoughtful and appreciated.
On our return home I decided a morning in the shed was called for, I hadn't been in for a while. I collected camera's, flask, book and nibbles off I went.
I managed a few shots of Robins and a couple of sparrows I was quite pleased with.
Turning to the kitchen window I realised Tony must have become bored...

There is just nothing I can say!

Today has been a day of ups and downs, mostly in my face. I have a condition called "Angioedema" which means I can swell up at any time for no reason, it is an allergic reaction to something we just don't know what. It seem's to be made worse by stress so I think at times I am just allergic to life!
Today my face has been swelling, it has been up and down like Eddie Murphy's in the Nutty Professor .
Sometimes it is one side of my face sometimes the other today they were taking it in turns. My lips too, if you have seen Forrest Gump well Bubba had nothing on my lips Let me tell you!
It's all well and good I can laugh about it but it has a serious side too, if my tongue or airways swell I have to ring 999 or Tony has to rush me up to A&E as it can prove fatal in a short time. Luckily this has not happened and hopefully it wont but we are always aware of the possibility.
It also affects my internal organs I have been told, they too can swell up, this answers the question why I can start off a size 12 in a morning and be a size 18 on an evening, so much for dieting.
I could never understand why they didn't work!

Here is a picture of a comedy band from the 60's/70's does anybody recognise them or any of the members? I am sure if you look closely some of you will.

Happy St Davids Day
White Rabbits is what my Nana would have said this morning, if she was still here. That she told me is what you should say first thing on the first day of every new month, she never told me why and I don't think I ever asked, I just put it down to another of those "Nana things."
I suppose family members do a lot of strange things, most of which I am beginning to realise I am better not to question, in fact most of which I wouldn't even know about if it wasn't for the power of "facebook".
I don't use it myself but it is amazing how many people are rushing to tell me what is on there that they seem to think will interest me!
All I can say is if I am meant to know or somebody wants me to know they will ring me, speak to me or email me otherwise they don't want me to know, after all I am only their mother!
Well anyway I went down to the shed this morning the sun was out and the garden was full of life. I put out some food, set up my cameras and...
the gardener at the school over the wall at the bottom of the garden appeared with his petrol drivern hedge trimmer. He stood on step ladders with his head over the wall cutting the ivy. Nooooo! I thought the wrens have just started spending time in there, I was hoping they might nest in there. Then he moved down to the end of the wall to the corner. Nooooo! I thought the blackbirds are building a nest in there.
I was so relieved when the gardener left to hear the blackbird chattering and dragging long pieces of grass and leaves into the hedge, I even managed to snap a few photo's of the wren going in and out of the ivy, which I will show you when I have sorted through them.
